Transcript: Do-It-Yourself Ribbon Stickers

Pinky: You've seen all those yellow sticker ribbons people put on their cars that say 'Support Our Troops'? Well... I dunno, for some reason, they make me feel kind of... uncomfortable. Maybe it's because the logic seems sort of upside-down: I mean I don't think most young people go and join the military for a chance to kill and die in some weird colonial war; I think most of them probably sign up to 'defend their country', or to get money to go to college and stuff like that. But then they do get shipped off to do the dirty work of empire building, and all of a sudden you see all these 'support our troops' ribbons pop up as a way to create support for the empire building itself.

Doesn't that seem... dishonest? Isn't that a form of... exploitation? Anyway, I decided to make my own ribbon in support of our troops - I made it say 'Reject U.S. Imperialism'. I thought about it for a long time, and I honestly believe that that's a real thing we can do in order to really support our troops... but now I'm kinda afraid of sticking it on my car.
